The department of Visual Communication established in the year 2015 and offers a three-year graduate-level programme B.Sc. in Visual Communication. The Program was created to provide a comprehensive design education that integrates technology, aesthetics and the use of different media technologies. Kalasalingam’s Visual Communication programme is a full-fledged graduate programme with advanced facilities, a Comprehensive Curriculum, Skilled and Industrial experienced faculty. The university also organises co-curricular activities like dance, music, painting, photography, graphic design in an atmosphere that inspires students to reach new heights in their areas of interest with a strong root in their social sensitivity.
The curriculum focuses on media education while also providing a good understanding of other social sciences. The Indian Media and Entertainment (M&E) industry is a rising star in the Indian economy, with rapid growth. The Indian M&E industry is on the verge of a strong phase of growth, backed by increasing customer demand and improving advertisement revenues, demonstrating its resilience to the rest of the world. As a result, a diverse range of opportunities is being created for people with relevant industry experience. Students will graduate with a broad understanding of software and artistic abilities comparable to those found in the media industry. They also have a good chance of establishing their own studios after gaining the necessary experience in their respective fields. Within the department, full-fledged built-in Studios as per industry standards, students have introduced to the real world creative portal and industry best practices. The studios are run by effective and competent industry professionals.
The most recent developments ensure that studios have the latest mobile digital cameras, state of the art lighting grids, a completely furnished Edit Suite with industry-focused latest Editing Software, a sound-proofed state-of-the-art Dubbing Theatre, an electrified Photography studio, computer lab and drawing labs. The department has an Edit Studio, Photography Studio, Drawing Lab and Preview theatre for screening films.
The Indian Media and Entertainment (M&E) industry is a sunrise sector for the economy and is making high growth strides. Proving its resilience to the world, the Indian M&E industry is on the cusp of a strong phase of growth, backed by rising consumer demand and improving advertising revenues. Therefore, a wide scope of jobs is being generated for people, who have relevant experience of industry.
The students will come out with overall knowledge of software and creative skills on par with the media industry. They even have good scope of setting up their own studios after having essential experience in the respective field.

I take this opportunity to thank my professors and mentors of KARE who showed me the path to reach heights. I graduated from KARE during 2013 with not only academics but also with skills which is very much required by the Industries. Our institution has a wonderful curricula which focuses both on CGPA and Non-CGPA as well, which fired the inherent design skills in me.
