It is a skilled healthcare professional who is qualified with academic and clinical training
to provide medical care under the supervision of a licensed physician. Responsibilities
include diagnosis of disease, giving treatment and medications to patients, collecting
medical records of patients, physical examinations and assisting doctors.
Employment opportunities are excellent for PAs, particularly in undeserved areas or
settings that have difficulty attracting Physicians, such as rural and inter-city clinics. PAs
can work in any medical specialty and can work in a variety of settings, such as hospitals,
academic medical centers, and public clinics.
Physicians and institutions are expected to employ more PAs to provide primary care and
work in many medical and surgical specialties such as Cardiac thoracic, Oncology, etc., as
PAs are productive and effective members of the healthcare team.

At the time of admission, a candidate should have successfully passed the examination
conducted by a Board/University at the +2 level of schooling with Pass mark(50% in
Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Diploma in their relevant field (either through formal
schooling for 12 years, or through open school system) or its equivalent.
